Our History

SPORTS & MORE was established in 1999 to spread an interest in volleyball throughout the tri-state area. Located at a five-point intersection in Sewell, N.J., the 8-acre sports facility was originally named Five Points Community Volleyball.

Once completed, Five Points Community Volleyball included five indoor volleyball courts, eight outdoor sand courts, locker rooms and a concession stand. Soon, volleyball enthusiasts throughout the country flocked to the state-of-the-art facility.

In 2002, Sports & More Day Camp opened for children, ages 6-14. Sports & More unveiled a unique curriculum, which offered day campers a fun, safe and professional environment to enjoy sports. Children loved the weekly sports clinics and the bi-weekly theme days, including the Sports & More Jell-O-War, now famous throughout the community.

In the camp's second year, the program grew 400 percent. Today, the camp features a rock climbing wall, an in-ground pool, a nature trail, a waterslide and a huge trampoline called the Amazing Jumping Pillow. The day camp's success inspired further diversification. The facility added two basketball courts and basketball leagues began forming. In addition, the facility evolved into a premiere venue for indoor and outdoor parties.

After such growth and change, Five Points Community Volleyball outgrew its original name and the company changed its name to the Five Points Sports Complex.

In 2005, the Five Points Sports Complex expanded to include the Tumble Times Gymnastics Center. Tumble Times established an alternative to traditional gymnastics lessons, gymnastics for fitness and fun, not competition. The unique, playful gymnasium began to grow into one of South Jersey's premiere children's birthday party venues and Tumble Times also began to provide focus groups for children with special needs.

In December 2006, the Five Points Sports Complex introduced its company mascot, Sporty the English Pointer Puppy. Children and adults alike instantly loved Sporty. The English Pointer pup began appearing at Tumble Times birthday parties and community events throughout South Jersey.

On January 1, 2007, the Five Points Sports Complex changed its company name and logo for the third time. Again, growth and diversity forced this difficult decision. Sports & More, originally the name for the day camp only, now encompassed the entire facility. The new name, SPORTS & MORE, provided unlimited growth potential, as the facility prepared to expand beyond just sports.

On October 1, 2007, Sports & More came under new ownership. The Rastelli family, of Rastelli's Foods and Rastelli’s Market Fresh (formerly The Meat Stop), took over to help the facility to really flourish! The three Rastelli sisters, Rachael, Tara & Jenna, along with their mother, Gerri worked diligently to develop and polish fine youth programs to bring Sports & More to the next level.

The day camp, now directed by Tara Rastelli Carr, has been branded with a fresh name and new activities for its campers. Camp SAM has large inflatables, caring counselors, fun weekly themes, new sports clinics, special guests and projects for the senior campers! The snack bar has also grown, becoming a full-service cafeteria with salads, sandwiches, burgers, fries, pizza, snacks, drinks and so much more! The facility has become the proud home of South Jersey Storm cheerleading, managed by Rachael Rastelli Merryfield and Jenna Rastelli Varano!

Also in January of 2009, Sports & More started its first youth sports league, South Jersey AAU Storm Basketball for boys and girls to experience the professional side of youth sports programs. Through AAU Storm, young athletes will practice weekly for competitions that will take them throughout the Tri-State area and even Florida for qualifying finalist teams. AAU Storm athletes will also be able to meet many professionals in the field to learn the importance of practicing, keeping up on school work and what colleges look for in their athletes.

In 2010, several youth sports programs were expanded to include Intro. to Sports classes for our youngest athletes (ages 3-5), Pee Wee Soccer Clinics, youth basketball leagues, various sports camps (soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball), and more! Former Philadelphia 76er, Tim Perry joined the Sports & More family to provide advanced individual, small group, and team basketball training in the form of classes, clinics, and camps. In addition to youth sports programs, Sports & More added some great fitness opportunities for parent participation while children are playing at our facility. We added high energy and exciting Zumba and Boot Camp classes!

In 2011, the SAM Playcare Summer Program was created to offer the younger siblings of our campers the same opportunities to enjoy the many exciting activities we provide at our day camps. Now, children ages 2-4 can spend magical summers with us at camp!

In addition to creating new summer programs, Sports & More introduced 2 new types of birthday parties: Girly Parties and Cheerleading Parties at the request of our customers. Now girly girls and cheer divas can spend their special day doing the things they love!

In 2013, Sports & More’s name changed to encompass the values of the well-known, family-oriented Rastelli’s branding. The building was officially renamed to be Rastelli’s Sports & More.

In 2013, Camp SPIRIT kicked off to provide a day camp experience for children ages 5-14, with a strong focus on cheerleading. Cheerleaders could now enjoy the traditional day camp activities while also training to become elite cheerleaders.

In 2014, we are proud to say we have welcomed 400+ families into our camp program and Rastelli family and work hard to keep our camper families involved and engaged throughout the school year as well. Similar to the summer season, we offer several family oriented gatherings, events and programs to foster the camp friendships that are formed during summers with us. Some of these events include holiday camps, the Annual Camper GAGA tournament, Breakfast with Santa, Easter Egg Hunt, Family Fun Nights and more!

In 2015, Rastelli’s Sports & More re-branded into a Children’s Learning Opportunity Center that fosters the development of 21 st century skills in youth. RKC serves families within our community by providing youth programs that are designed to teach students important life skills; such as leadership, communication, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration. We believe that these skills are essential in preparing your children for the rapidly changing and increasingly competitive world.

There is much more to come from Rastelli Kids Complex as we continue to evolve to fulfill our community’s needs and interests.
