Camp SAM is our traditional day camp for boys and girls, ages 5-15. Campers participate in swimming, nature trail, rock climbing, arts & crafts, weekly sports clinics and more.
At Camp SAM, your child will learn to make new friends, try new things, and have fun in a nurturing, creative environment.
Camp SAM is designed specifically for the young active child who loves to be outdoors, playing games, swimming, being creative and is eager to learn more about sports. Camp SAM campers are provided with a well-rounded, fun-filled summer experience.
Campers swim at least once a day in a safe aquatic atmosphere designed to meet their ability. Certified Red Cross instructors supervise each pool and encourage the development of swimming skills throughout the summer.
Camp SAM campers are grouped according to their age and school grade. Our groups are small (no more than 20 campers) and supervised by at least 2 caring, nurturing, mature and talented counselors.
Our Camp SAM campers are grouped as follows:
• Freshman: ages 5 & 6
• Sophomores: ages 7-9
• Juniors: ages 10-12
• Seniors: ages 13-15
Camp SAM offers weekly sports clinics designed to teach the fundamentals of popular sports to encourage teamwork and physical fitness. Our qualified sports instructors have the expertise to adaptively design the clinics to meet the needs of individual skill levels and abilities within the camper groups. Campers will learn the basic fundamentals, rules of the game, and of course the FUN of the sport! Campers do not need prior experience or knowledge of the particular sport in order to participate. By the end of the week, all campers should be able to play the game at an intramural level. At Camp SAM, we emphasize teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship rather than competition. On Fridays, there will be scrimmages in the sport of the week, where campers will have an opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned.
Weekly Mini-Sports Clinics:
In addition to the weekly sports clinics, Camp SAM offers over 56 different activities to foster the development of confidence, friendships, and physical fitness including:
